Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science

Graduates of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Curriculum

During the first two years, students complete all general education requirements including prerequisite courses listed in the application packet (PDF). A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA in biology and chemistry courses and overall 2.0 GPA is required. For courses taken multiple time, all grades earned are used to calculate biology and chemistry GPAs.

In the professional phase (junior and senior year) students complete on campus courses in each of the major clinical laboratory science disciplines (hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology) as well as clinical rotations in each of these departments at a clinical facility.

Current clinical affiliates include CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern; Carteret Health Care, Morehead City; Novant Health, Winston-Salem; UNC Lenoir Health Care, Kinston, Vidant Medical Center, Greenville; Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington; Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro; Wilson Medical Center, Wilson.

Currently, there are no distance education options for this degree.
